Pre-Alpha. This page describes behavior that may change.
This section is the starting point if you have never heard of Ze, or if you have and want to know what is actually inside it. The pages cover the product pitch, the mental model of the engine, an honest account of what works today, and the project history.
- What is Ze. A five-minute read. What the project is, what it is not, and how it relates to ExaBGP.
- Why Ze. The longer form: when Ze is the right tool, when it is the wrong tool, and the honest trade-offs.
- Architecture. The mental model: a content-agnostic supervisor, a pub/sub bus, a config provider, a plugin manager, and a BGP subsystem that is itself a plugin.
- History. Where Ze came from: ExaBGP, the AI-assisted rewrite, and what changed.
- Status. What works and what does not. Read this before you try to use Ze for anything real.
Unreviewed draft. This wiki was authored in bulk and has not been reviewed. File corrections on the issue tracker.
