Biomedical scientist moving into Data Science, Bioinformatics & GenAI for healthcare.
I understand the biology behind the data — I was the one running the PCR and the NGS.
I'm a biomedical scientist (EBMSP, 2024) and former CNPq research scholar in genomic surveillance of arboviruses and COVID-19. I'm now completing two postgraduate programs at PUC Minas — Data Science Applied to Healthcare and Bioinformatics Applied to Healthcare — and building toward data/AI roles where wet-lab intuition meets code.
- 🔬 Background: NGS sequencing, PCR, genomic surveillance, clinical pathology
- 📊 Now working in: Python, R, SQL, machine learning, NLP and Generative AI
- 🌱 Currently learning: LLMs / GenAI, Linux, bioinformatics pipelines
- 🇧🇷 Based in Bahia, Brazil · open to remote / relocation
genai-biomedical-nlp — an end-to-end GenAI + NLP pipeline over PubMed literature (arbovirus surveillance): PubMed collection via NCBI Entrez → zero-shot classification + biomedical NER (Hugging Face) → LLM summarization → validation (scikit-learn). Runs free on Colab.
- bioinformatics-with-biopython — my Biopython exercises and notes
- tidymodels-studies — notes from Tidy Modeling with R
- python-r-data-science — bridging Python & R for data work
