A mobile loan app for SuperLender borrowers in Kenya and Uganda.
SuperLender Mobile puts a borrower's whole loan relationship on their phone: applying, checking what is owed, and paying it back. It is for existing and prospective SuperLender customers, and it runs as a separate app in each country it serves.
Before the app, borrowing meant text messages, phone calls, or a visit to a branch or agent. Customers could not see what they owed without asking someone. Repayment meant remembering a paybill number, typing an account reference, and hoping it landed against the right loan. Mistakes were common and the customer had no record of what had happened.
SuperLender Mobile replaces that with a single place where the customer can see their loans, see the balance, apply again, and pay — without leaving the app or contacting anyone.
Sign in
- Log in with your phone number and a PIN.
- Confirm your identity with a second step at login for added security.
- Reset your PIN yourself if you forget it.
Loans
- Apply for a loan from your phone.
- See all your loans in one list — active, disbursed, overdue and settled.
- See the outstanding balance on each loan at a glance.
- Review your repayment history and what you have already paid.
Repayment
- Pay with M-Pesa directly from a loan.
- The amount is filled in with your outstanding balance; change it if you want to pay part of it.
- Choose a common amount with one tap instead of typing it.
- Approve the payment on your phone with your M-Pesa PIN. The payment is applied to the loan you paid from, so there is no account number to get wrong.
Staying informed
- Receive notifications about your loans and payments.
- Read past notifications in the app.
Country and currency
- Kenyan and Ugandan customers each get their own app.
- Amounts and phone numbers are shown in the correct local currency and format — no mental conversion.
Comfort
- Light and dark appearance.
The app is available to SuperLender customers. There is no public demo — everything behind the login screen is real customer account data.
Designed and built end to end by one engineer: product flows, interface, and the full working application for both countries and both mobile platforms.
The source is private. This is a commercial product operating on live lending accounts and payments, so the code and implementation detail are not published. I am happy to walk through the design decisions, trade-offs and internals in an interview on request.
