Startup Labs on AWS

Welcome to Startup Labs on AWS!

This project contains a collection of patterns, reference architectures, and reusable code implemented for startups that demonstrate how to build and scale on AWS. The patterns can be used by startup customers, partners, and internal AWS teams to accelerate development and adopt AWS best practices from day one.

Motivation

Startups need to move fast while building on solid foundations. However, with the wide array of AWS services and architectural choices available, configuring an environment that meets your startup's specific needs can take a significant amount of time. It involves integrating multiple AWS services, open-source tools, and infrastructure patterns, as well as expertise across various domains.

Startup customers have asked for patterns that demonstrate how to integrate AWS services and make it easy for them to provision production-ready environments that meet specific application requirements. Startups can utilize these patterns to configure and deploy purpose-built architectures, and start shipping features in days, rather than months.

Consumption

Startup Labs on AWS has been designed to be consumed in the following manners:

  1. Reference: Users can refer to the patterns and code provided to help guide them to their desired solution. Users will typically view how the pattern is configured to achieve the desired end result and then replicate that in their environment.

  2. Copy & Adapt: Users can copy the patterns into their own environment, using Startup Labs on AWS as the starting point for their implementation. Users can then adapt the initial pattern to customize it to their specific needs.

Patterns are not intended to be consumed as-is directly from this project. They serve as starting points and reference implementations. Users are encouraged to modify and adapt the code locally to suit their requirements.

Important Disclaimer

While this is an AWS-backed repository, it is supported on a best-effort basis. The community is the key differentiator that will keep this project evolving and growing. The patterns provided here are not production-ready and should be treated as examples and starting points. They must be reviewed, tested, and modified according to the specific requirements, security posture, and compliance needs of each environment before being deployed to production workloads.
