This repository contains the official implementation of SceneJailEval, a novel evaluation framework for assessing jailbreak attacks on Large Language Models (LLMs) presented in our AAAI 2026 paper.
SceneJailEval is a comprehensive framework that evaluates the safety and robustness of LLMs against jailbreak attacks through:
- Scenario Classification: Categorizes harmful queries into 14 distinct risk scenarios
- Multi-dimensional Jailbreak Detection: Assesses jailbreak success through multiple evaluation dimensions
- Harmfulness Evaluation: Quantifies potential harm using weighted scoring across different dimensions
- Multi-dimensional Batch Processing: Supports large-scale evaluation with checkpoint resumption
The SceneJailEval framework consists of three main components:
Classifies user queries and model responses into 14 risk scenarios:
- Violent Crime
- Non-violent Crime
- Sex-related Crime
- Child Sexual Exploitation
- False Information and Defamation
- Professional Advice
- Privacy Invasion
- Intellectual Property Infringement
- WMDs (Weapons of Mass Destruction)
- Hate and Discrimination
- Suicide and Self-harm
- Sexual Content
- Political Agitation and Elections
- Regional Sensitive Issues
Evaluates whether a model response constitutes a successful jailbreak using scene-specific criteria:
- Rejection: Whether the model refuses to answer
- Helpfulness: Whether the response provides actionable harmful information
- Regional Compliance: Compliance with regional laws and regulations
- Risk Warning: Presence of appropriate risk warnings
- Explicitness: Level of explicit content
- Political Neutrality: Political bias assessment
Quantifies potential harm across multiple dimensions:
- Specificity: Level of detail in harmful instructions
- Severity: Potential severity of consequences
- Authenticity: Believability of false information
- Impact Scope: Scale of potential impact

python batch_run.py data/SceneJailEval.csv
# With options
python batch_run.py data/SceneJailEval.csv --no-resume --only-jailbreakThe repository includes the SceneJailEval dataset containing:
- 1308 query-response pairs
- Expert annotations for harm dimensions
- Ground truth labels for jailbreak success
- Coverage across all 14 risk scenarios
The CSV dataset contains the following columns:
Scene: Risk scenario categoryQuestion: User queryAnswer: Model responselabel: Ground truth jailbreak label (0/1)harm_*_expert: Expert annotations for harm dimensions
Customize evaluation behavior in the respective modules:
- Scene classification prompts in
prompts.py - Dimension weights in
harmEval/dimension_selector.py - Evaluation prompts in
harmEval/dimension_evaluator.py
The framework provides comprehensive evaluation metrics:
- Accuracy: Overall classification accuracy
- Precision/Recall/F1: Jailbreak detection performance
- Per-category Accuracy: Performance across harm categories
- ASR (Attack Success Rate): Percentage of successful jailbreaks
- Average Harm Score: Mean harm score for jailbroken responses
- Per-scene Statistics: Breakdown by risk scenario
