# Weekly Dev meeting

When: 8/23/26, 7:00 UTC
Present: Aapeli, Darren, Keigo, Kevin, Nick, Nicole, Valeria
Scribe: Nick

# Notes

* Guidelines for AI in PR
- We need standards for AI usage, especially in writing PRs
- Lots of people dropping in with 1 (or especially 2) PRs, hard on reviewers
- PRs should be able to write what they think the code is doing
- Responding to feedback with "Claude told me" is not super helpful for reviewers
- Aapeli will write something and circulate to put in place about our expectations around AI
* Slow search bug followup
- Keigo will work on getting rid of ellipsis, and standardizing line-clamping
- We may also be able to reenable Sentry alongside/afterward
- Can we find a way to measure page slowness?
* Possible new issues to tackle:
- Shared codebase between mobile and web? Nicole has a work-in-progress PR, but not fully happy
- Yarn vs pnpm? We use yarn, but it's no longer the cool new thing
- Hosting calendar?
- Host filters?
- Public events (maybe we make a different endpoint for public events? or something like a loggedIn component calling private API but otherwise public?)
* Gitlab flakiness: maybe there was a change to Docker? Network flakiness?
- Aapeli: working on it but not satisfied with the solution so far
- Keigo: maybe set 'retries' for non-tests but not for keep tests?

* What everyone's working on:
- Kevin: new job wooo, possibly helping draft AI guidelines?
Comment thread

- Darren: has been doing some code review, maybe next some upgrades or Public Events?
- Keigo: working on line clamping PR, then will find new reviewing tasks + other
- Nick: moderation stuff, PR for signup start-over
- Valeria: looking for new ticket to take, Nicole suggests check in github-integrations channel for tickets that are not in Kanban
