Links in CHM #5580

My vendor's CHM file has an image of a dialog with instructions to click on the controls in the dialog for more details. The pointer changes to the hand icon but clicking has no effect. If I right-click and select "open link in new window", the doc jumps to the first page without opening a new tab. "Open link" does nothing. (I do hear a click to acknowledge the menu selection.) This is with 3.7.18401 64-bit. It's possible that the link goes to a non-existent page, but I'd expect a pop-up to tell me that. I tried the same file in KCHM Viewer and got "A remote link BSSCPopup("Popup_PLS_Modulo.htm") will start the external program to open it" and then nothing happens. (The page name looks reasonable for the item I clicked on.) |

You would need to be more specific with an example file as CHM is poorly supported on modern windows as a depreciated format due to such insecure scripted linking. some links depended on Internet Explorer as evidenced by the HTM reference and whilst the core is still there it is not as easy to use as in the unsecured past. Most systems such as https://documentation.help/Netica/documentation.pdf are PDF orientated |
