Color-picker of chromium under Linux does not work

To me it seems, that the color-picker of the chromium browser under Linux does not work properly. the same problem occurs with the appimage-version. The colorpicker in the firefox-Browser works ok.

What is the problem you are encountering with the color-picker ?

I think that whatever the problem is, it does not come from Magrit itself. Magrit uses the browser's native color selection component (so there is no code in Magrit to manage the "internal" behavior of this component; we simply ask the browser to open it, then we retrieve the color selected by the user).

I know that some color-picker don't work the same: in some browser (and/or on some operating systems) you can pick a color outside of the browser window, while in others you can't.

Oh OK, indeed, this is totally broken on chromium! (the appimage is using chromium as well)
The red channel always get a "NaN" value from the color picker.

This seems to be a known issue with Chromium, and it only appears to occur on certain types of Linux configurations, as described in this ticket: https://issues.chromium.org/issues/40777177.

Have you changed anything recently in your Linux installation? (major system update, change of window manager, etc.?)
I don't want to encourage you to make changes to your Linux configuration, but it's very likely that this is the cause (so perhaps the next major update to your system will resolve this issue...).

Thank you for your detailed explainations. Yes https://codepen.io/mthh-the-flexboxer/pen/raLXLwB delivers the same behaviour (NaN for the red channel). I recently upgrade from Mint 22.2 to Mint 22.3, but I cant remember , if this bug occourded under 22.2 too.
