Changes aren't reliably cleared after sending PR

Not a major issue but I've noticed that for a second time, after I've submitted the pull request and closed purl-associator, my changes have been loaded again after opening it again.

I'm guessing they get cleared after clicking "Done" in the PR confirmation rather than when the PR is created.

Yeah indeed, thats kind of a downside of this workflow.

We could make an optimistic update and store in localStorage but its a bit misleading maybe.

Can't we update it after getting confirmation that the PR was created (i.e. when the PR link is displayed)?

I guess we could! :) We would need to hit the Github API though which rate-limits pretty quickly, maybe something to figure out.
