🐞 ZeusHammer Issue Update – macOS Installation & LLM Connection
System:

macOS (Apple Silicon M1 Pro)

Python 3.12.12 (in virtual environment mlx_env_312)

DeepSeek API key (OpenAI‑compatible endpoint)

What I did:

Activated the correct Python environment (source mlx_env_312/bin/activate).

Ran the installation script (curl ... | bash). It completed successfully, including Playwright and PortAudio.

Configured ~/.zeushammer/.env with:

Started ZeusHammer from ~/ZeusHammer with:

Observed behavior:

ZeusHammer starts without errors (Playwright and voice initialise).

However, every English command (e.g., "hi", "what time is it?", "help") is incorrectly matched to the Chinese skill "读取文件" (read file).

The stats command shows llm_calls: 0 and errors: 0.

The agent never calls the LLM; it falls back to a default skill.

What I tried to fix:

Setting LANGUAGE=en in .env.

Adding LLM_PROVIDER=openai and LLM_MODEL=deepseek-chat.

Running with explicit environment variables in the terminal (OPENAI_API_KEY=... OPENAI_API_BASE=...).

Verifying the API key works (it does with curl and Open Interpreter).

What I suspect:

ZeusHammer may not be loading the .env file correctly (the API_BASE variable was None when tested with dotenv).

Or the natural language routing / intent recognition is not using the configured LLM at all.

Possibly the skill system expects a different model name or a specific API provider (e.g., ChinaWhapi) rather than a generic OpenAI endpoint.

Could you confirm that ZeusHammer works with DeepSeek’s OpenAI‑compatible API?

Are there any additional steps or configuration variables needed to enable English language understanding and LLM routing?
