Toggle-action with multi appearance?

Hi,

I am trying to use a single button that would cycle through several display/appearance, eg.

• display temperature
• display humidity
• display clock

I thought that was was the toggle action was for, but the display doesn't change, it only shows the toggle action icon.

Is there something I'm missing on the setting? is there another way to achieve what I'm trying to do? (cycling the display of a button through a list of list of appearances when clicking on it ?)

When you add an Action to a Toggle Action, it adds another state which you can edit in the normal "Right Click - Edit" Way. You just need to change the State you want to change in the Drop-Down.

Hi,

Sorry, I wasn't clear: I meant that instead of editing each state with a fixed text (and color), I was hoping to use the appearance of the current active action.

to give an example: I have 2 states "humidity" and "temperature", the first one is a home assistant action to display the current humidity, the second to display my thermometer (so the current temperature). My aim is to display the humidity by default, then by pressing on the button, to switch to display the temperature, and cycle back to the first state if I press again

so basically displaying on the button the icons of the actions

Is this possible?

What is the point of letting choose the Appearance of each action if not? is this because the home assistant entity actions aren't aware of the context (toggle action) and let you wrongly choose the appearance?

For your Question about Homeassistant Plugin: Yes, the normal way wouldn't be to configure this on the PI but on the "Right Click - Edit" menu. Due to the way of how the Homeassistant plugin works, it has a non default way of configuring some Customization tho, which is shown here, but not on the Outside of the Multi action. If you for example add a Simulate Input action or so, you don't have customization Options inside of the Multi-Action.

I would say as long as it is backwards compatible and has the same behavior as now as default, I would say there is nothing preventing you from creating a PR.
