Firewire no longer supported in latest Mac OS Tahoe?

Been using DVRescue happily for a few years using a Startech FireWire PCI Card installed in Mac Pro 2019 always using latest OS. Just updated to Tahoe 26.2 (this is a required organisational update) and decks no longer detected. Tried a couple of firewire detection tests (Vrecord and Quicktime) - no device detected, checked cable and it is working.

System information for my firewire PCI card shows "driver installed - no". I suspect this is the issue.

Also, just seen this video which seems to confirm my theory and suggests there is no solution except to roll back to previous OS (which my organisation may not allow me to do)

Anybody else experienced this and found a solution?

Tahoe 26.2 removed Firewire drivers, right, the only way to use Firewire is to use an older macOS.

@dericed I'm too scared to upgrade any of our computers to Tahoe because of them removing the Firewire drivers. But I'd def be willing to test this once we're done with a huge DV project!
