Have you considered providing a recommended citation for this repository, or linking it to Zenodo (or a similar platform) to obtain a DOI? That would make it easier for academic users to properly cite it and would give you formal credit for the work.
Over the past 4–5 years, I’ve been developing a custom instrument based on a Vertex 80v FT-IR spectrometer, and I followed a similar Python-based control approach. I came across your repository a few months ago and found it very relevant. I would like to cite it in my PhD thesis, as I believe it could be valuable for other researchers working with Bruker systems.
If helpful, I’d also be happy to contribute whether by testing, debugging, or adding new features. In our lab we have access to both a Vertex 80v and an older IFS 66v/S.
