Unclear (?) setup steps between Cloud and GHES versions

What part(s) of the article would you like to see updated?

In Cloud docu version, there is a step 6:
Under "Identity Provider Groups", select the Select Groups dropdown menu, and click up to 5 identity provider groups.

In GHES, it doesn't exist, so you're supposed to go into settings and......do nothing?

I don't know how this is supposed to be handled as I don't know whether GHES supports it at all. but seems like it either should be fixed or article should state it's unavailable in GHES/not be present for GHES.

@dublinsubway Thanks for reporting this. Yes this is a bug, the feature was added on GHES relatively recently but this particular part of the article has been versioned for GHEC only for several years and was not updated when the versioning of the overall article was expanded to cover GHES. To fix this we can remove the versioning tag around the step

Hi @isaacmbrown - thanks for checking!

I can put up a PR to remove the tags, but I assume it's not available in all (currently available) GHES versions as you mentioned it got rolled out recently (and if I just remove the tags, it'll be on all GHES docu versions I assume); judging by how other articles work, I'd need to replace ghec/ghes by a feature name, which I wouldn't know from outside.

If having it out for all GHES versions fine, we can go ahead just with removing the tags.

Up to you what's the best way to do it - if I can help, shout at me, but not sure if I can do much without internal knowledge.

Also might be worth it reviewing if there are any other tags that need removal?

Thanks @dublinsubway! Sorry, my wording was slightly misleading - SCIM on GHES has been GA since 3.17, so that covers all supported GHES versions, therefore we can just remove the versioning tag at this point. There may be other incorrect tags around but I'd view those as out of scope for this issue. Feel free to open a PR to close this, or otherwise we can leave this issue open for someone else to pick up 🙂
