Proposal: Jupyter Notebook-like Query Editor for Redash

Hi all,

In our organization, I built a small browser extension that adds Jupyter Notebook-like functionality to Redash queries:

• Splits the editor into multiple cells (each cell = one SELECT query).
• Lets you run queries cell by cell instead of selecting manually.
• Makes duplicating and iterating on queries easier.

People internally have found it a big UX improvement. Here’s a quick demo (video):

I’d love to hear your thoughts:

• Would this be useful in Redash?
• Should it be a core feature or optional mode?

Thank you for the idea and the demo !
It is quite interesting idea.
I think, it looks a bit new experimental concept, and it will be nice if the feature is available as a part of the product so that we can try the look and feel !

I also think It is nice if we can get more feedback about the idea from others.

This feature really resonates with my use case. More often than not, I'm exploring 1 topic that usually requires multiple SELECT statements in one text area, extensively using the "Execute selected" action. Being able to run each statement in one click would actually save a lot of clicks.

As an analyst, I would definitely use that feature on a daily basis.
