Description

Currently, Brave allows users to enable the "Forget me when I close this site" option on a per-site basis via the Shields panel. However, there is no global setting to automatically enable this feature for all websites by default, specifically when browsing in Incognito mode.

Adding a global toggle for Incognito mode would significantly enhance privacy-focused workflows without requiring manual configuration for every single website visited.

Expected Behavior

In brave://settings/shields, there should be a new option under the global Shields settings:

  • A toggle named something like "Automatically enable 'Forget me when I close this site' for all websites in Incognito mode".
  • When enabled, every site opened in Incognito mode will automatically have the "Forget me" flag active in Shields, clearing first-party cookies and site data immediately upon closing that specific tab/site, rather than waiting for the entire Incognito session to end.

Actual Behavior

Users must manually click the Shields icon and toggle "Forget me when I close this site" for every individual website they visit, even when using Incognito mode.

Additional Context

This feature would bridge the gap between standard private browsing and ultra-strict session management, giving users tighter control over site-specific data persistence during a long Incognito session.
