Vanilla OS won't boot after installation

I am running a PC with MSI Z270 Pro Carbon motherboard, an Intel core I7-7700K, 32 GB or RAM and a 500GB Samsung SSD on SATA. Boot mode set to UEFI only. Installed Vanilla OS 2 four times, but it will not boot from the SSD. After boot, it falls back on BIOS settings. If I make it into GRUB rescue, I get an error: lvmid/uuid/uuid not found.

Gave it a couple more tries today, cleared the whole SSD, no partitions at start of install. Tried with and without data encryption. Same result as before.
