For some reason I clicked through to https://forum.tribler.org/ and noticed there is a lot of spam going back a few months.

As a suggestion, if the forum is not being maintained, link direct to GitHub and abandon the forum.

Good point! We sadly need to reduce the amount of systems to maintain and de-spam-ify.

Our custom forum is now disabled. We are forced to use Github Discussions, as we could not handle the abusive spam and fraud on our forum. Sadly.

Is this why other platforms like Discord, Reddit, X, etc are basically abandoned?

@SpudmanWP correct. It's very easy for people to make those, but we really don't have the manpower to maintain them.
