I'm seeking clarification on the correct procedure for setting the antenna height within RTKBase, specifically concerning the workflow for obtaining precise coordinates via the CSRS-PPP service.
My setup is a permanent base station with the antenna fixed on a roof. My current understanding and questions are as follows:
Static Data Logging: When initiating static data logging for later submission to CSRS-PPP, should the Antenna Height be set to 0 (zero)? My goal is to have the CSRS-PPP report return the coordinates of the physical point on the ground (or roof) where the antenna is mounted. I've seen discussions suggesting that a zero value results in coordinates for the "bottom of the receiver".
Antenna Height in Base Settings: After receiving the corrected coordinates from CSRS-PPP, what value should be entered as the Antenna Height in the main RTKBase settings? Is it correct to also leave this as 0, assuming the coordinates from CSRS-PPP already represent the antenna's reference point (ARP) or the ground point?
Type of Height: The CSRS-PPP report provides both Ellipsoidal and Orthometric (or Geoidal) heights. Which of these values should be used when entering the base station's coordinates into RTKBase? My assumption is that RTKBase expects the Ellipsoidal Height, but I would like to confirm this.
My current workflow is:
Set Antenna Height to 0 for static logging.
Submit the log file to CSRS-PPP.
Obtain the precise Ellipsoidal Height from the CSRS-PPP report.
Enter this Ellipsoidal Height into the RTKBase base station settings, keeping the Antenna Height field as 0.
