CrossPoint Reader (Xteink 4) starts reading on Table of Contents

I've hooked up news2reader to Karakeep and downloaded a few articles to my Xteink X4 using the CrossPoint Reader firmware (v1.4.1). For some reason, the reader skips to the Table of Contents, which comes after the main body of the article, and I have to page back or use the chapter selector to get to the first page.

I can dig into this a little more (first checking how CrossPoint behaves with differently structured ePubs) but I wanted to leave a note here first in case that rings any bells.

Strange! I don't have experience with that reader, and I haven't seen behavior like that. This app just uses Mozilla's Readability tool and a generic HTML to EPUB converter; I'm not sure how an EPUB could trigger the reader to jump ahead like that, so my hunch is that it's something in the client.
